White Cane Day Celebration Activity– “Together We Cook”

To celebrate the White Cane Day, the Rehabilitation Centre organized a celebration activity – “Together We Cook” at the Headquarters on 15 October, 2010 (Friday). A group competition for visually impaired trainees was held in the morning, base on the skills learnt during the rehabilitation training, such as housekeeping skills, living skills, use of braille, orientation and mobility skills, and etc. Participants of each team demonstrated team work and good team spirit in the preparation such as buying food in the market, cooking, napkin making, table setting and menu designing. The afternoon session was a dessert making workshop. The 30 participants learnt to make delicious sticky rice sweet dumplings together. Before closing, every participant received a gift from the lucky draw. The programme was concluded in a happy and warm atmosphere.
