Audio Description Services Update

“Audio Description Training Programme of Film” – from Elementary to Advanced Level

Thanks for the support! The overwhelming response enrollment is thrilling and exciting!  “Audio Description Training Programme of Film” Elementary Level has just finished.  Thanks to those actively participating students, Dr. Joel Snyder, Mr. Clarence Yang our consultant and the 3 tutors for their lectures and guidance.  Students are ready to proceed to the Advanced Level after passing the assessments.

Films with Audio Description track

The COVID-19 restriction has been gradually relaxed.  Our centre has organized several screenings in its Audio Description version at HKSB and at cinemas.  Films screened at cinemas were Time and Zero To Hero.  The latter film’s AD production cost is sponsored by Mr. Kenneth Fok, JP and Mr. Fok is the audio describer of the film trailer and voice acting as the sports commentator!  Films screened at HKSB included A Better Tomorrow, Shock Wave 2 and Bullets Over Summer.  Films released in video (DVD) with AD track are Shock Wave 2, Bullets Over Summer. Upcoming titles included Time and Raging Fire.

Anita the film – Audio Description track

The upcoming film with Audio Description track is ANITA, directed by award-winner Longman Leung starring Louise Wong, is released commercially on 12 November 2021.

More cinemas to provide Audio Description service

Two cinemas of Broadway Cinema Circuit, B+ CINEMA APM in Kwun Tong) and MY CINEMA YOHO MALL in Yuen Long, have installed the Audio Description equipment.  AD services are provided from 12 November 2021. A total of eight cinemas provide AD facilities, apart from the two newly joined Boardway Cinemas, the other six are:

2.    Cheung Sha Wan  MCL Cheung Sha Wan Cinema 
3.    Kowloon Bay      The Metroplex
4.    Tsing Yi              Cine-Art House(Maritime Square)
5.    Tung Chung       MCL Citygate
6.    Shatin                Movie Town (New Town Plaza)
