The Hong Kong Society for the Blind and School of Optometry, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University signed a MOU

The Hong Kong Society for the Blind (HKSB) and School of Optometry, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyUSO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 7 August 2019.

HKSB and PolyUSO have established an abiding collaboration over the past years, the General Eye and Low Vision Centre of HKSB arranged internship for the students of School of Optometry, as well as recruiting suitable clients for different research projects of the School, to allow the students to understand the difficulties of the visually impaired person’s daily life, how to enhance the use of residue eye sight and adaptive aids to overcome the difficulties in their daily life.

 

By signing the MOU, HKSB and PolyU will strengthen our co-operation in the coming five years. HKSB will provide suitable clinical practice opportunities to the students, and arrange visiting tour to our service units, to allow the students to know more about the rehabilitation services provided to the visually impaired, so that the students are able to introduce our services to the needy one or refer them to HKSB, when they are conducting public education programmes or providing vision screening to the public.
