TALENT-WISE EMPLOYMENT CHARTER

To echo the “Talent-Wise Employment Charter”, launched by the Labour and Welfare Bureau in joint collaboration with the Rehabilitation Advisory Committee, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and the Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities, The Hong Kong Society for the Blind joined the scheme in last November as Employer Organization and awarded the 2013-14 Inclusive Organisation Logo.

Persons with disabilities possess different work potentials and positive work attitude like every one of us. Over the years, the Hong Kong Society for the Blind has made continuous effort to promote employment of persons with disabilities, especially persons with visual impairment. During  2013-14, we have employed 43 persons with disabilities, which accounts for 7% of our total staff members. The Factory for the Blind, since its establishment in 1963, provided sheltered employment for persons with visual impairment and other disabilities. In addition, the Career Support and Development Centre has been committed to assist persons with visual impairment in their open employment, provide them with vocational training and counseling service, as well as  rendering supportive service to the prospective employers; for details, please visit our website www.Cando.hk..
