The 17th WBUAP Asia-Pacific Regional Massage Seminar, themed “Sharing the Strategies for the Sustainable Development of Blind Massage in the Asia-Pacific Regions,” was held in Seoul, South Korea, from 27 to 29 August 2025. The delegation was led by our Vocational Rehabilitation Services Director and Business Development Manager. The programme included the opening ceremony, reports from 12 countries and regions, and discussions on education and in service training for blind masseurs. HKSB represented Hong Kong and shared updates on the local blind massage sector.

The following days focused on research showing the effectiveness of blind massage, including Point Chrome Therapy, multi finger techniques for children with developmental delays, and prenatal massage. Assistive devices for persons with visual impairment were also introduced, along with demonstrations from several countries. HKSB presented the development of its Mobile Massage Team, post pandemic corporate partnerships, and relevant Hong Kong regulations. Other regions shared their service experiences and cooperative models, making the exchange informative and useful.
