Human-centered approach design of Kowloon Home for the Aged Blind (KHAB) wins International Award

Occupational Therapy Department of KHAB collaborated with Elderly Home Designs to renovate the restroom and bathroom on the 5th floor of headquarter west wing. Using Smart AI technology, it helps to real-time monitor the fall risk for visual impaired elderly and make early warning reminder. Besides, all assistive equipment in the bathroom can be easily installed and adjusted through “quick release” technology. It better suited the environment for visual impaired elderly and made a safe place for them to shower. 

This project won the “Best of TOP 10 Designer” and “2023 Innovation” award in the GRAND PRIX DU DESIGN PARIS 2023.
